He believes that getting to know his patients builds a rapport and trust that takes eye care to the highest level. Dr. Hegyi is a native of Indiana who graduated from Purdue University and the Illinois College of Optometry. Before gradu

ating with honors he completed internships at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the Sidney Hillman Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Hegyi started and built up a successful practice in northwest Indiana. In addition to private practice optometry he has worked for a large LASIK center performing pre and post-operative care for over 1,200 refractive surgery cases. Each year he continues his education, studying the latest advances with the nation’s foremost clinicians. This extensive focus on education allows him to offer today’s state-of-the-art techniques with an emphasis on contact lenses, dry eyes and glaucoma. Since 2004 Dr. Hegyi has lived in O’Fallon with his wife Laura and their two children Sophia and Claire.

We have MORE great news for 2025! Besides building a new office, we're adding a doctor. We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Laura Hegyi is joining the practice. And if you've notice a familiar name, that is because she is married to Dr. Joe!

Dr. Laura previously enjoyed seeing patients while she was at Clarkson Eyecare, but now she's coming over to us at O'Fallon Family Eyecare as we grow.

She will start seeing patients in January and we're adding patients to her schedule now!

Great news! We are moving down the hallway to a larger and newly renovated office! The new space is the former St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry office (the first office on the right as you walk inside the building).

What are we going to do with the larger space? Glad you asked! We're adding additional exam rooms because we're adding another optometrist to the practice!
