One of the questions we get asked a lot is, “What is that instrument you run up and down my back?”

This is called a Delta-T, or Nervoscope, and it’s one of the tools we use to help us take the guesswork out of your care.

As we gently glide it along your spine, it measures small temperature differences from one side to the other. When we notice a consistent change in an area, it can give us insight into how your nervous system is responding and whether there may be stress or irritation affecting that part of the spine.

The Nervoscope doesn’t tell us everything on its own, but when combined with our other findings, it helps us determine where your body needs attention so we can keep your care specific and individualized.

We love using tools like this because they help us focus on what your body is telling us, not just your symptoms, and allow us to care for you with intention every step of the way 🤍

Most golfers assume their back gets tight because they’re “getting older” or because they swung too hard. In reality, the body is usually compensating for a loss of motion somewhere else.

The golf swing places a huge rotational demand on the spine. When the mid-back stops moving the way it should, the lower back often takes on stress it was never designed to handle. Over time, that compensation adds up.

Pain and tightness are rarely random. Instead, it is a sign that your body is adapting to dysfunction somewhere in the chain.

The goal shouldn’t just be temporary relief. The goal should be restoring proper movement so your body doesn’t have to keep compensating every round.

If your back always feels “tight” after golf, it may be time to look deeper than the muscles.

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it’s a reminder that freedom has been purchased at a great cost.

We are deeply grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who laid down their lives for others, and we remember the families who carry that loss every day.

From all of us at Rise, thank you to those who served and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We remember ❤️

What is really holding you back? Most people would say pain, constant headaches, lack of energy, brain fog, etc. What if I told you all these things are secondary symptoms from a primary cause.

We never really ask, “What is causing me to feel like this?” Instead, we put a bandaid on it, forget about it, and deal with it again when it comes back.

Your nervous system coordinates every action and function in your body. When communication between the brain and body is disrupted, the body can’t function the way it was designed to and that’s when secondary symptoms begin to show up.

You don’t have to keep living a life that feels limited or held back.

It starts with getting clarity on what’s actually going on.

If you’re ready to function the way your body was designed to, it’s time to take the next step.

Most people experiencing chronic muscle tightness or frequent back spasms assume the issue is purely muscular. In reality, these symptoms are often a secondary response to an underlying cause.

Muscle tone and function are controlled by the nervous system. When communication between the brain and body is disrupted, the resulting muscle response can become inefficient, leading to tightness, fatigue, or spasm.

Also, muscles may spasm as a response to spinal instability or abnormal movement patterns, which act as a protective mechanism.

Addressing symptoms alone may provide temporary relief, but lasting results are achieved by identifying and correcting the underlying dysfunction.

If you’ve been dealing with recurring tightness or spasms, it may be time to look deeper. Reach out to learn how a more specific, individualized approach can help you get to the root of the problem.

Most people don’t realize how much they’ve lowered their standard for “feeling normal.”

If it’s not stopping them from working, they ignore it.
If it goes away for a little while, they accept it.

So headaches, tight shoulders, and low back pain just become part of life.

But common doesn’t mean healthy.

It just means a lot of people are dealing with an underlying issue and not fixing it.

Your body doesn’t just “wear out” for no reason. When something keeps showing up, there’s a cause.

Here is the real question: are you actually addressing it, or just getting used to it?

“My camera roll is getting full…”
…okay but how are we supposed to delete memories like these?

The truth is, these videos don’t even begin to capture what happens inside these walls every day.

The hugs.
The prayers.
The healing.
The tiny victories.
The deep conversations.
The babies growing.
The families changing.
The joy, laughter, and love that fills this office daily.

We’re incredibly grateful that this place gets to be more than just a chiropractic office.

It’s people being cared for, known, and encouraged right in the middle of their healing journey.

So no… I don’t think I’ll be deleting these anytime soon.

Today we celebrate mothers 🤍

But motherhood is so much bigger than biology.

Some women are raising babies.
Some are praying for babies.
Some have lost babies.
Some are spiritual mothers.
Some are mentors, safe places, encouragers, caretakers, and nurturers.

And some women show up every single day carrying the kind of love, strength, gentleness, wisdom, and sacrifice that reflects the heart of a mother, whether they’ve ever given birth or not.

We believe every woman carries something deeply valuable and life-giving.

So today, we celebrate ALL women.
The ones who nurture.
The ones who serve.
The ones who love deeply.
The ones who make others feel safe, seen, and cared for.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman who mothers the people around her in big ways and small 🌷

Every patient that walks through our door is blown away by the attention to detail. They feel like they are truly being heard and that their care is specifically tailored to them.

The truth is, that should be the standard.
Not rushed visits.
Not guessing.
Not the same approach for every person.

Real, life changing results are achieved when care is specific. When the root cause is addressed instead of just chasing symptoms. That’s what makes the Gonstead approach different.

Your health deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach
