This past weekend, I had the privilege of facilitating the Valued Workshop in Elgin as a recipient of the Elevating Equity Grant. As a school social worker and author, my mission is to provide evidence-based, high-impact empowerment that goes beyond “fluff.”

Participants earned how to physically rewire their brains for confidence. Between the “Worth Race” and our “Valued Tribe,” the growth was palpable.

I hope each girl left equipped with tools for emotional regulation and a renewed sense of their inherent worth.

I work out, drink my water, get my protein and use sunscreen all year round but most of all I mind my business. It always amazes me the amount of time people have to think about other people. Mind the business that pays you….literally.

I love when I’m consistent with the toddler and it pays off. This morning he said ‘I can play with my puzzles…no TV in the morning”.
I don’t win every battle but I’m hopeful for the war 😂
