In this video you can see a drop filler. When I add Hylenex (hyaluronidase), it immediately begins to break down the hyaluronic acid gel.
That’s exactly what happens inside the body.
Hyaluronic acid filler is made of a sugar molecule that naturally exists in our skin. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks that molecule apart, allowing your body to safely absorb and clear it through the lymphatic system.
So yes — filler can truly be dissolved.
After dissolving, you may see some temporary swelling for a day or two, but the body gradually absorbs the broken-down filler and the area returns closer to its natural baseline.
💉 Why I specifically use Hylenex
❥ There are a few different forms of hyaluronidase available. I only use Hylenex, which is a recombinant human form designed to closely match the enzyme our bodies naturally produce.
❥ Some other dissolvers are animal-derived and come as a powder that must be mixed before injection. While they are still hyaluronidase, they can carry a higher chance of inflammatory or hypersensitivity reactions in some patients.
❥ Recently I’ve seen several patients come in after being dissolved elsewhere with significant facial swelling reactions, which is understandably scary for them.
❥ Those types of reactions are not the typical response we expect when dissolving filler.
❥ Safety and predictability are extremely important to me, which is why I choose the formulation that most closely matches the body’s natural enzyme.
❥ If you ever need filler adjusted or dissolved, it should always be done by an experienced injector who understands how, when, and how much dissolver to use.
Your face deserves that level of care ❤️
