At Independence Plus, it is our mission to provide exemplary care and services for people at home with complex medical and respiratory needs. After six years with Independence Plus and 43 years in the industry, our Team is wishing a wonderful retirement to Chris Binelli, RRT, RCP! Chris has been a fantastic colleague with a passion and dedication to her job that deserves all of our admiration. Congratulations on a job well done, Chris. You have made a positive impact in the lives of many and we are grateful for your contributions to healthcare and to our IPI Team! While Chris is retiring from her full-time position, we are thrilled that she will continue to provide ventilator management training on an as needed basis!

Our team is very grateful to take part in the ALS United Greater Chicago Living Well with ALS 2025 Educational & Scientific Symposium taking place today at Cantigny Park, in Wheaton, IL. Since 1985, Independence Plus has provided care for many ALS patients and we are proud to support an organization that does such important work! IPI’s Clinical Director of Home Nursing Karina Esquivel, BSN, RN, is running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with the Lurie Children’s Team on Sunday, October 12th! Karina is running to support Lurie patients and is dedicating her 26.2 miles to help raise awareness of cleft lip and palette, a cause that is near and dear to her heart.

As a nonprofit hospital, Lurie Children’s depends on donations. According to Lurie’s website, this is how your support can make a difference:

$100 is enough help make a child’s hospital stay a more positive experience with activities, supplies and toys.
$250 can provide patients with the support they need to thrive after lengthy hospital stays.
$500 supports clinical trials to help discover new or more effective treatment options.
$1000 helps train the next generation of specialists.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.
