🚨 With an 8% increase in emergent cases projected over the next decade, EDs across the country are getting busier and more complex. According to a recent article from Becker's Hospital Review, high-acuity patients now spend an average of 5.3 hours in emergency departments.
Specialty certified RNs bring the expertise and skillset needed to deliver exceptional care in high-pressure, high-acuity settings. And facilities hiring these highly competent nurses will be most prepared as emergent cases continue to rise.

Send a message to Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN):
BCEN is operated by a staff of dedicated employees who work tirelessly to ensure our certification candidates feel supported and encouraged in their journey toward certification. Some members of our staff are experienced nurses themselves, and hold BCEN certifications. As a whole, BCEN has more than four decades of experience in continuing education and certification for emergency nurses.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of practicing nurses with experience and expertise in every facet of the emergency care spectrum. They provide responsible and reliable guidance to our staff, and act as advocates to give a voice to our credential-holders and candidates.
We have also formed committees that are vital in helping us write questions and ensure our exams are fair, relevant and appropriate for assessing skill level and knowledge in each specialization.
