Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common type of skin cancer. An estimated 1.8 million cases of SCC are diagnosed in the United States every year.

Similar to BCCs, SCCs are primarily caused by cumulative exposure to UV radiation and are curable if detected early. Those with weakened immune systems may be at an increased risk for developing this type of skin cancer.
