We’re excited to support the Salvation Army this holiday season. All seven of our locations will be collecting coats for kids and new toys for families in our community.

If you’re able to help, feel free to stop in with a donation during regular hours. Everything we collect goes right back to the kids who need it most.

Thank you for helping spread some warmth and joy this season. 🎁🧥

Yesterday, funeral directors Paul and Sarah had the opportunity to tour the new Lake Shore Burial Vault facility — and wow, what an impressive operation! We were able to see firsthand how the vaults are made, stored, and painted, as well as how the emblems and name plates are created for the final product.

A huge thank-you to the McQuestion family for your warm hospitality and for taking the time to show us around. We’re so proud to partner with a local, family-owned company that shares our same dedication to quality and care in serving families.

Wishing the McQuestion family many years of continued success!

Sarah, Chris, and Ben recently attended the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) International Convention and Expo in Chicago!

Each year, this convention brings together funeral professionals from across the country and around the world to share ideas, explore new innovations, and continue learning how to better serve families.

Did you know? Funeral directors are required to earn continuing education credits to keep their licenses current. The convention offers a variety of educational sessions and workshops designed to help us stay informed about the latest best practices, technologies, and care standards in our profession.

This year was especially meaningful for us, as Ben attended after being awarded a scholarship to participate from the Funeral Service Foundation. We’re so proud of him for this well-deserved recognition and for representing our team with such professionalism and heart. 👏

Continuing education and professional growth are at the core of what we do — because every family we serve deserves the very best.

If you’ve ever called Heritage Funeral Homes and been greeted by a voice filled with warmth, kindness, and calm — there’s a good chance you were speaking with Rachael Runkel, our head administrator. Rachael has been part of our Heritage family for many years, and her compassion shines through in everything she does.

What many may not know is that Rachael’s connection to the Oak Creek community runs deep and her family has been an integral part of Independent Cemetery, one of Oak Creek’s oldest cemeteries, since its early days. Today, Rachael serves as the head trustee, continuing a long tradition of care and stewardship that’s been passed down through generations.

We’re so proud to see Rachael and her family featured in The Current’s story about Independent Cemetery — a true Oak Creek treasure that relies on dedicated volunteers like the Runkel and Honadel families to preserve its history and beauty.

Take a moment to read the full article below — it’s a wonderful reminder of the heart, history, and humanity that make Oak Creek such a special place.
