SO MANY of our clients ask us:
“For self-care, how much heat should I use?”
Well, like most things, different medical professionals will have differant opinions, mostly because it depends on the area. Our rules of thumb?
Start with:
⭐️ Use either a heating pad (like the one in the picture), or some kind of wet heat, like a hot shower or hot tub.
⭐️ Start with 30 minutes of applying the heat, and put a 60 minute break in between rounds of heat.
⭐️ Heat as consistently and often as you can in the 24-72 hours after your massage in the sore / treated areas. Why? This helps bring more blood flow to the affected area(s), prolonging the great work we did during your session!
⭐️ If soreness persists, do one round of heat daily until your next appointment. Forget a day? No worries, just use heat when you can.
