First week of Little Oakies Homeschool is in the books! The first week of school can be hard for kiddos, so we had a nice slow week. We had plenty of sensory play, outside time, and free play as we got used to our space, our schedule, and school rules. We all had a great time!

I’m super excited to share that Little Oakies, a new in-home preschool program for 3 and 4-year-olds, is starting this September! We’ve created a warm and fun space where your kiddos can learn, grow, and thrive.

🌱Program Highlights:
Where: Garden Oaks/Oak Forest area of Houston
When: Monday to Thursday 9AM to 1PM
Schedule: September to May, with holidays following HISD schedule
Focus: A language-rich curriculum that highlights learning through exploration

At Little Oakies, we provide personalized, play-based learning with a focus on creativity, curiosity, and holistic development. Our program uses outdoor activities and real-world experiences to build confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Today I'm continuing the series on identifying red flags in research about parenting and child development and in advertisements for apps and toys. The second red flag is any article or product that guarantees results.

This tactic goes along with appealing to care giver's emotions. Finding tools and strategies to help your child flourish can be frustrating, and guaranteed results may be enticing. However, the truth is that there isn't a cure-all. Every child is an individual and no single product can work for everyone.
