Drug Take Back event at the Fair Oaks Station this Saturday, April 27 from 10am-2pm
Do you have unused prescriptions in your home?
Did you know that approximately 60,000 emergency department visits annually result from children under 6 finding and ingesting medication?
Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. According to the 2017 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Fairfax County Police Department. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
If you have any unused prescriptions in your home, please stop by the Fair Oaks Station and drop them off.
There will be a collection location in the station lobby.
Be sure to tell your neighbors!
