Happy Pi Day...!! Pi was first calculated by Greek mathematician Archimedes and named for the Greek symbol π, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. The number’s first three digits are 3.14 and it is celebrated every 3/14 on !! It was called "pi" because pi is the first letter in the word perimetros, which means "perimeter."
