The FDA has recently approved an at-home self-collection device for cervical cancer screening. This allows the patient to collect their own sample in the privacy of their home before mailing it to a certified lab to be tested-- a massive step forward for accessibility in reproductive health.

🎉 Farewell Celebration for Dr. Shadi Latta, MD 🎉

We recently gathered to celebrate and honor Dr. Shadi Latta, a dedicated and compassionate medical oncologist who has been an integral part of Affiliated Oncologists for several years.

From Dr. Latta: “It has been a great pleasure providing health care needs over the years, and it is not easy for me to relocate, and I will miss you all!”

Dr. Latta’s contributions to patient care, leadership on various committees, and affiliations with esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and Syrian American Medical Society have left a lasting impact.

September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. Gynecologic cancers affect the reproductive organs and include cervical, ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vaginal, and vulvar cancers. Early detection can significantly improve outcomes, but not all gynecologic cancers have effective screening tests.
