Good news for children with asthma!

"A systematic review and meta-analysis published in Paediatric Respiratory Reviews suggests that long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMA) are a safe and effective add-on treatment for children ages 6 to 11 with moderate to severe asthma. LAMA significantly improved lung function and asthma control without increasing adverse events."

Today is National Call Your Doctor Day - but here at Alzein Pediatrics and Alzein Pediatrics Urgent Care, we urge you to call or message us whenever you have a concern.
We see so many health questions in social media parent groups that really need a medical professional's advice - rather than thoughts from dozens of untrained people who don't know a child's medical history.
So make EVERY and ANY day you have a health question Call Your Doctor Day!

Is your child one of the nearly 1 in 5 kids in the U.S. who suffer from seasonal allergies? Symptoms can include nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, rashes or hives, itchy, watery or red eyes, even headaches.
The first line of defense is to avoid allergens. Use your air conditioning, stay inside in the middle of the day when pollen counts are highest or on breezy days, vacuum frequently, and consider installing a HEPA filter system.

The American Red Cross recommends anyone who is not comfortable doing rescue breaths during CPR perform just chest compressions.
In face, bystander CPR recommends avoiding rescue breathing and only performing chest compressions at 100-120 beats per minute. The easiest way to remember this and keep time is to perform compressions to the beat of the Bee Gee’s “Staying Alive.”

It's CPR Awareness Week!
CPR, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, is the act of reviving someone’s heart (cardio) and lungs (pulmonary), using a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths. On the surface, it sounds like you might need a medical degree to understand how to do this, but in reality, any trained bystander can safely administer this noninvasive procedure, providing critical minutes of assistance until trained medical professionals can get to the scene.
Are you CPR Certified?
