Fun fact:
Last year alone, our volunteers generously donated over 21,000 hours of their time, providing an estimated economic impact of approximately $818,000 to our community. More importantly, they share their skills, talents, and compassion to support both our residents and staff in countless meaningful ways! 👏🏻

Alive & Kickin’ was amazing!! 🤩

Founded in 2010 by Michael Matthew Ferrell, Alive & Kickin is the Twin Cities’ premier senior rock ensemble. It began its journey as a touring vocal ensemble of seniors who rock. The rock ensemble is comprised of seniors ages 60-99+. Now, a full decade later, Alive & Kickin has grown to redefine what it means to grow older. 🎤
Alive & Kickin’ supports and serves our senior population through the craft of music, empowerment of self-expression and the belief that you’re never too old to pursue your passion. 🎵

What wonderful entertainment we had this afternoon! 🎻🎹🎵
Weber/St John is a Piano + Violin music duo consisting of Kurt Weber and Ash St. John. What began as a small side project has grown into an energetic duo that has developed a reputation with original works, classical works and arrangements of hymns. Kurt is a composer and pianist with over a decade of experience in creating beautiful piano music. Although learning how to play at a young age, his true passion for the instrument began as a young adult during a military deployment in Kuwait in 2012. Over time, he discovered a particular love for solo piano arrangements of timeless hymns. Ash St. John is a story of persistence through life’s trials, working with music his entire adult life, Ash has developed a musical reputation in the Minnesota area and has enjoyed a period of prolific creativity. 🎶

Liberty Dream Story: Doris’s Wish to Hold a Lamb One More Time!

Sometimes a Liberty Dream begins in the most unexpected way. For Doris, it all started with a milkshake. 🥤

One afternoon, Doris wasn’t feeling well and nothing sounded good to eat. When her home health aide, Kelci, asked what might sound appealing, Doris sighed and said the only thing that sounded good was a vanilla milkshake. Then she quickly added, “But you can’t do that.” ❤️

A short while later, Kelci returned with a vanilla milkshake in hand—much to Doris’s surprise and delight. As she enjoyed her milkshake and with a twinkle in her eye she looked at Kelci and said, “If you’re really that good at surprises… then I want to hold a baby lamb one more time.” She thought her wish was far-fetched.
That simple moment—born from care, trust, and a milkshake—sparked a beautiful Liberty Dream. 💭

Doris spent many years as a sheep farm owner, and her love for animals, especially lambs, has always been a defining part of her life. The chance to hold a lamb again is more than a wish; it is a return to cherished memories, a connection to her life’s passion, and a moment of pure comfort. 👩🏻‍🌾

Thanks to the special bond between Doris and Kelci, and the spark of that unexpected milkshake, we now have the privilege of helping make Doris’s heartfelt dream come true. This dream would not have been possible without the generous visit of RavenRock Farm in Stillwater! 🐑

A special shout out to Caroline, Bella, Kia, & Lauryn who serve on our Life Enrichment team!
We received a wonderful note from a resident who observed the heart of these caregivers. ❤️

Bert shared: "I live in the Terrace and went to the musical performance last Thursday in Auditorium A. I was so impressed by the level of care being given to the people that attended . The staff that was there was so caring. They even brought some people out in their wheelchairs and helped them dance during the songs. One man was just beaming when he was out there. There was a woman sitting near me who was having a problem because the noise was bothering her, and the staff person sitting nearby picked up on that right away and helped her leave. All in all, it was so nice seeing how attentive and respectful they all were. They just didn’t take care OF them, they cared ABOUT them, and it was so nice to see."

📚✨ Pioneer School Days Program – Seats Still Available! ✨📚

Step back in time this summer! Our Pioneer School Days Program runs June 8–11, 2026, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, and we still have open seats for this unique and memorable experience.

Children will spend their days in the historic McKean Schoolhouse on the Boutwells Landing campus, discovering what life was like for students in the early 1900s. 👒🪵✏️

Students will enjoy a multi age, cooperative learning environment—just like in a traditional one room schoolhouse. Activities include:
🎶 Music lessons
🔬 Simple science explorations
📜 History learning
🎲 Old fashioned games and hands on activities from the period

Local history truly comes alive under the guidance of our experienced and caring School Marm, whose mission is simple: have fun while learning!
