Behavioral Learning, PLLC

Behavioral Learning, PLLC Science + Heart. We encourage and support diversity, equity and inclusion within our workplace and the treatment that we provide.

At Behavioral Learning, we are committed to creating a safe and collaborative environment to empower growth and foster individualized behavior change. Our goal is to develop professionally caring relationships with each of our learners where cultural values, religious affiliation, and identity as self-defined are respected and integrated into treatment, as appropriate. Regardless of ability level, all are afforded the freedoms of everyday life and human rights are valued. Our therapeutic framework is based in third-wave behavior analytic support, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). As counselors, social workers, and behavior analysts, we utilize data-based decision making to determine and enhance individualized change. MISSION STATEMENT: We are passionate about learning across the lifespan. Our primary mission is to transform adult services by integrating mental and behavioral health services into high quality, compassionate neuroaffirming care. VISION STATEMENT: To create a world where the stigmas associated with receiving mental and behavioral health services are no more.

There’s no single “right” way to connect.
Quiet counts. Texts count. Memes count. Sitting side by side counts.
If it feels genuine, it is.

💡 Try this: Notice one moment this week when you felt connected - online, in person, or through shared understanding. Reflect on what helped that moment feel safe or genuine.

🗣️ What helps you feel connected to others? Share one way you like to show or receive connection.

Image Description: A white square graphic framed by a purple border features a quote in purple text: “Quiet counts. Texts count. Memes count. Sitting side by side counts.” The word “counts” is emphasized in bold. Decorative quotation marks in orange appear at the top and bottom, with the Behavioral Learning logo placed near the bottom.

Didn’t hit every goal this month? That makes sense. A lot is heavy right now.

Show up when you can. Tomorrow, the next day, and again when you’re able. Progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about returning. Show up tomorrow. And the day after. Again and again and again. That’s how progress happens.

Image Description: A purple speech bubble with quotation marks at the top contains the text, “Show up tomorrow. And the day after. Again and again.” Smaller text at the bottom repeats the phrase “and again,” emphasizing persistence. The Behavioral Learning logo appears in the lower corner.

Two things can be true.
Things are heavy right now. And humor still belongs here.

Our in-person learners made these protest signs to speak out about what matters most to them, joke around a little, and remind us that resistance doesn’t have to look just one way.

Image Description: A glass entry panel with several handwritten notes taped below the Behavioral Learning logo. The notes include messages like “Accept everyone for who they are,” “Protect Chicago,” and “De-ICE the streets,” along with hand-drawn hearts and playful phrases such as “Beyoncé for President” and “Good luck.”

In light of everything happening in Minneapolis and across this country, we want to be clear: we are not neutral.

Policy shapes environments. Environments shape behavior. The policies forced upon our communities by the current administration are harmful and dangerous, and we refuse to pretend otherwise.

We reject systems that use fear, coercion, and punishment as tools of control. This is true as behavior analysts and humans. We oppose policies that criminalize and marginalize immigrants and harm communities under this false promise of "public safety." This is not safe.

At Behavioral Learning, our values are collaboration, belonging, and compassion. These values are not passive. They require action, accountability, and resistance to systems that cause harm.

Mental and behavioral health IS political. Safety and access is paramount. And we will always stand on the side of dignity, safety, and care.

New year, new plan… same big questions?

If this year has you thinking about your practice, your values, or where you’re headed next, you’re not alone. A lot of us start January with curiosity, reflection, and a few “what now?” moments.

The Behavioral Learning Mentorship Collective is a supportive space for clinicians who want to keep growing with intention. We focus on compassionate, neuroaffirming, and evidence-based care, while making room for real conversations, learning, and community.

Whether you’re exploring ACT, working in non-traditional settings, or simply wanting mentorship that feels human, this collective is here to support your journey.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us that change doesn’t have to be perfect to matter. Small steps count and noticing them helps us keep going.

💡 Try this:
When you take a small step toward a goal, pause and acknowledge it.

🗣️ Reflection:
What’s one small step you’ve taken recently that deserves recognition?"

Image Description: An orange background with a torn white paper strip across the center displaying a quote in purple text: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Behavioral Learning logo appears at the bottom.

A new year doesn’t require a “new you.”
Just small, doable habits that gently nudge you toward what matters most.

💡 Try this: Pick one small behavior that reflects a value you care about, then do it once a day this week. Track your progress and celebrate each success.

🗣️ What’s one small thing you’re starting fresh with this year?

Image Description: A purple background with an orange-outlined box containing the text, “New Year. Same You. (which is great, actually).” Quotation marks appear above the text, and the Behavioral Learning logo is shown in the lower right corner.

Before setting new goals this year, take time to reflect on what truly matters to you. Our values help guide our actions, and when our behaviors align with them, change feels more meaningful and sustainable.

💡 Try this: Write down your top three values (like kindness, growth, or connection). Then ask, “What’s one thing I can do this week that fits each one?”

🗣️ Share your top values for 2026 in the comments!

Image Description: Purple square graphic with white text reading, “Let values guide your next step.” Decorative arrows point forward above the text, with quotation marks in two corners. Behavioral Learning’s logo, website www.behavioral-learning.com, and contact information appear at the bottom.
