Dr. Anne Maxwell

Dr. Anne Maxwell Dr. Maxwell specializes in providing behavioral and educational consultation and applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment for children and adolescents.

Dr. Maxwell received both her Bachelor’s degree and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at UCLA. She had the privilege of working with the late Dr. O. Ivar Lovaas for four years. Dr. Lovaas is considered to be the pioneer of the applied behavior analysis treatment of young children with autism. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago and subsequentl

y worked at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, as an inpatient program manager for child and adolescent units. She has also worked at Evanston Northwestern Hospital. Dr Maxwell worked as the Program Director at a parent-based clinical organization based in London called PEACH for several years. This necessitated quarterly visits to England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland for ABA consultation and training. Dr. Maxwell has provided clinical in-service training for school districts in Illinois and has developed home-based programs for clients all over the US and in Egypt and India. Dr. Maxwell has also had the privilege of providing in-service training to first responders in Skokie, Illinois, and Glenview, Illinois. This training was designed to help police officers, paramedics, and firefighters understand how to approach and apprehend persons with developmental disabilities in a manner less likely to escalate their behavior.
