Halloween reminds us how easy it can be to put on a mask.šŸŽ

When you’re struggling with infertility or pregnancy after infertility, sometimes that mask looks like:
šŸ•ø Smiling at baby announcements
šŸ•ø Saying ā€œI’m fineā€ when you’re not
šŸ•ø Pushing through when your heart feels tired

If you’re tired of wearing that mask, therapy can be a place to finally take it off.

Pregnancy OCD is having an intrusive thought that feels terrifying and out of character, then spiraling in guilt for even thinking it.

For those who’ve struggled with infertility, these thoughts can feel even more intense. After years of hoping, planning, and worrying about whether a pregnancy would even happen, your brain can become hyper-alert to any potential ā€œriskā€ to your baby. Intrusive thoughts may show up more frequently, and the guilt can feel heavier, because you’ve already endured so much to get here.

But here’s the truth: intrusive thoughts are a symptom of anxiety, not a reflection of your intentions, your safety, or your love for your baby.
Many people experience them during pregnancy and postpartum, especially when hormones, anxiety, and responsibility feel so intense.

If this is something you’re struggling with, you’re not alone. It’s treatable. Therapy can help you untangle the fear, guilt, and shame so you can begin to feel like yourself again.

Milana specializes in supporting people through Pregnancy OCD and related anxiety. Reach out today - the šŸ”— to learn more and schedule is ā¬†ļø in the bio.

Lately, I’ve been feeling more like myself than I ever have.

As a kid, I was gifted with the ear of music. I was athletic, creative, and very social - really good at a lot of things. I was always adaptable, capable, and able to figure it out. But I never felt strong in one thing. I blended. I fit in. I became whoever the space needed me to be.

Some of that was survival. Some of it was masking, unknowingly.

But something’s shifted. I’m showing up more fully, saying what I actually think, creating in my own lane…one that finally feels like mine.

It’s not about doing everything anymore. It’s about being rooted in who I am and trusting that’s enough.

I don’t have it all figured out, but figuring it out here, as me, is everything.

Here’s to showing up as who we actually are.šŸ«¶šŸ½

This is a very real part of pregnancy after infertility.

Even when things are going well, the body and mind can stay in protective mode for a while. It’s not a lack of joy, it’s a sign of how deeply you’ve been through this journey.

It’s okay to take your time. Safety takes time to rebuild.šŸ«¶šŸ½

Healing in this season isn’t about staying positive.

That’s what our sessions are here for.

If this season feels heavy, reach out. You don’t have to carry it alone.

It’s World Mental Health Day today…

šŸ«¶šŸ½It’s not about just staying positive.

šŸ«¶šŸ½It’s not about perfection.

šŸ«¶šŸ½It’s not even just about this one day.

šŸ’”It’s the courage to sit with the discomfort of uncomfortable feelings.

šŸ’”It’s finally exhaling after holding it together for too long.

šŸ’”It’s about setting boundaries as a way to honor your mental health.

We hope today you can find small ways to be kinder to your mind and give yourself permission to feel all your feelings, even those messy ones.

What’s one thing you can do today for your mental health or to protect your mental health?

✨Now Booking Workplace Speaking Engagements for 2026!✨

We don’t talk enough about how deeply personal challenges show up at work.

When someone is going through fertility treatments or pregnancy loss, that weight comes with them to work, and often in silence.

For years, I’ve helped people navigate those unseen emotional experiences as a therapist. Through my own personal experiences with infertility, I know firsthand what it’s like to navigate the journey while still needing to show up at work, on time, ready to go! Now, I’m bringing those conversations to the workplace.

My new talk, ā€œHealing at Work: Inclusive Conversations Around Infertility, Family Planning, and Mental Health,ā€ helps organizations build more compassionate, values-driven cultures where people feel supported through every part of life, not just the easy ones.

If your company or employee resource group focuses on mental health and wellness, I’d love to connect.

Black women are more likely to experience infertility, pregnancy complications, and inadequate healthcare — yet their struggles are continually dismissed or overlooked.

From medical racism to financial barriers, the system has made access to fertility and maternal care inequitable for far too long — enough is enough!

What can we do?

āœŠšŸ½Encourage self-advocacy to help Black women feel empowered to ask questions and get second opinions.
āœŠšŸ½Normalize conversations as a way to provide resources and break the stigma.
āœŠšŸ½Support Black-Led organizations and collaborate with them.
āœŠšŸ½Encourage clinics and providers to get better trained in cultural competency.

This isn’t just a Black issue, it’s a HUMAN issue. We ALL have a role in making change happen. Quality care should NOT be dependent on race! Let’s keep the work going beyond February!
