May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a chance to highlight the importance of mental wellness and lessen the stigma regarding mental illnesses. We're featuring some of the excellent resources here in Oak Park that support the mental health of our community. The Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society is a member‑driven organization committed to ensuring the health and well-being of children in need. Founded in 1916 as a milk station, it has grown into the IWS Children’s Clinic: a full‑service pediatric medical home providing medical, dental, behavioral health and social services to more than 3,000 low‑income children each year across West Cook and DuPage Counties and the City of Chicago. Please drop off all small donations (1 to 2 boxes) of gently used children’s books at the IWS Children’s Clinic (28 Madison Street) during clinic hours. If your donation is larger than 2 boxes, please message us to coordinate a drop-off time.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At the IWS Children’s Clinic, we recognize that caring for a child’s health includes supporting their mental and emotional well-being.

This month, our amazing teen volunteers are preparing special kits for our teen patients to receive during their visits. Each kit is designed to promote self-care and provide practical tools for managing stress. Thank you River Forest Township for your support with purchasing these kits.
