MJ RUNDELL WINS THE BRONZE!!!

MJ competed in the U17 World Championships held in Athens, Greece. He finished the tournament with an epic comeback win, finishing off his final opponent 12-6. Shoutout to Coach Jake Rundell who’s been with MJ every step of the way and was in his corner in Greece.

Over the last 12 months MJ won 2 Fargo National Championships (Freestyle/Greco), an IHSA State Championship, and now earned a World Medal in his age group. MJ continues to push himself, set lofty goals, and work with the support provided. We have no doubt he will continue this amazing ascent!

Day four: We returned to the Habitat restore in Columbus Georgia. This was another great day of service where we were able to continue providing help at the store while bringing materials in from other locations. The workers were grateful for the time we were able to give and express their gratitude for the effort the wrestlers put into their work. Shout out to Coach Campos on his expertise cabinet designs. We finished the day by loading and unloading two full trucks of materials from a warehouse.

Day three: We took a trip to the Atlanta Falcons training facility and Emory Medical Clinic/Sports Performance and Research Center. Former coach Rick Danilkowicz
is one of the orthopedic surgeons working for the Atlanta Falcons and he was able to provide a comprehensive tour of the medical facility; while Jake Pfeil, the Director of Sports Medicine for the Falcons, took us through their facilities. This was a great opportunity for the wrestlers to see a variety of professions within one setting. Anything from athletic training, to information science, to MRI technician. Each presentation was well thought out and they were more than willing to give up time and share their expertise.

Day two: We worked at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Columbus, Georgia. This was a great day of service for the boys were able to help organize, paint, and provide general manual labor for this Habitat community. Afterwards, we headed to a local baseball field for an outstanding game of Led Ball. It was a competitive game with limited crash-outs as coaches Campos and Renteria’s team to took home the victory. To end the evening, Coach Rent and Zev took home the doubles title in Mario Tennis.

Senior trip 2025 in the books!

Day one: Campus tour at Auburn University thanks to Dr. Phil Verpil. Dr. Verpil is a 1999 OPRF graduate and wrestler. We were treated to a fantastic tour of the campus, the newer football facility, and the Esport lab. Everyone we came in contact with greeted us with energy and love for Auburn. It was a tremendous experience for our rising seniors. Dr. Verpil then hosted the boys at his community pool and provided some delicious barbecue. After a long day we wrapped things up with a super calm game of Mafia.

Finals bound!!

With a 9-0 Technical Fall in the semifinals of the 17u World Team Trials, MJ Rundell will compete for a spot on Team USA. There will be a best-of-three match round starting at 6p CST on Flowrestling.

Congratulations to the 6 Huskies who qualified for USAW Greco National Championships! This was a great day of wrestling for those who qualified and gave their best efforts but came up short.
