Update on king!

💫(I feel like this picture is appropriate for this post.)

So every time we play music, we have to wear my daddy’s hat. It’s starting to become a tradition. Alana wears it in the piano room when she practices violin too. King loves to play the piano and loves to hear the music box that sits on top of the piano (from mom and dads house). We do this often.

💫Kings recent nephrology appointment went well and Dr. Hunley was happy to see how he is interacting and engaged while talking and playing with him. Kings bloodwork came back and he is up to 27% kidney functional! How is this possible??!! I was so EXCITED 😆 but I came to learn that kidney function fluctuates. So for that, it makes me sad that I got my hopes up thinking that his kidney function was improving. But it still gives us time for King to keep his “native kidneys”. I’m so so grateful for this boy who has so much life and so much to give and offer to this world. He is an Angel in real life. 😇💙

King got his AFO braces today and some new shoes! He also got to try out some new walkers!!

What I love about this experience: is that the orthopedist has legs of steel! He is an advocate and showing kids at Vanderbilt that we are all the same! We are a fan of his and I hope he knows it by now! 🥰

This is a late post…but King got fitted for his AFO leg braces and got his last set of casts on! 🥳🥳

(I’ll share the video in the next post!)

We picked out 🦕 dinosaurs 🦖 for the theme of his new braces and he is going to be rocking them like a champ!

The first thing we are going to do when he comes back from Vanderbilt on Friday is go swimming because this poor little guy has been casted his whole summer so far.

Oh! and he will be able to play with no casts on his BIRTHDAY!! Y’all mark your calendars 😂🥰 because King James in turning 2️⃣ July 7th!! 🥳🥳

Our Nashville trip well yesterday 🚙🏥

King is a little over 22 pounds now!!

Urology doesn’t need to see King for 6 months!! 🥳
(his ultrasound on his kidneys and bladder looked good on the images)

Still waiting on blood work results from Nephrology (we will see how his little kidneys are functioning, how blood disorder is/if improvement, etc.)

GI- the doctor said that King has graduated from his care and doesn’t need him anymore 😅 WINNING!!

Although we will miss GI, we have gained another doctor for King (in Orthopedics). But all in all great news for now and now I can take a deep breath.

Life isn’t always cupcakes and rainbows..

Babes was playing in her room at nap time and was messing around with her nightlight…

Me: what happened??!! What did you do??

Babes: I didn’t do that!

Me: are you okay!?

Babes: I didn’t do that!

Me: did you hurt yourself??

Babes: yes, mama my hand hurts!

Me: well let me help you and kiss your hand. I’m sorry that happened but next time I bet you’ll stop messing around take take a nap.

•her curiosity is everything and reminds me so much of me. I love her so much!! She’s the kind of kid that when you say, “don’t touch that!”, she’ll touch it to see what happens. My girl, AMWAYS!

• side note, she is okay!!! Learning lesson and life isn’t always Facebook perfect! Lol 😂

Auntie Jerrica and King James, reunited yesterday!! All the feeling and emotions in a couple hours of visiting, after his appointments at Vanderbilt. We always pick up where we left off and we love her so much! “All the things” girl talk included. She’s one of the best people I know. ❤️👊🏽

Someone… 🥹, King James was VERY happy to see Auntie Jerrica in Nashville yesterday. Having her hold him was EVERYTHING! When we reunite, it’s all the feelings and nothing left unsaid. We!… our WHOLE crew love you honey!!
