Our take on the classic practice of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is a slow and internal practice. We use blankets and bolsters to support the body in longer holds, but allow space for gentle guided movement in-between poses. These extended holds will create more openness in the muscles and connective tissue as well as allowing for an intensely meditative practice and the movement gives our version of the practice a little more relaxed feel than the traditional format. This class is the ultimate restorative experience.

Joint Mobility and active flexibility are some of the most important, and under-represented movement practices. Whether you’re an athlete or simply want to stay feeling young as long as possible, mobility is something we all need. This playful 60 minute class will focus on motion through the joints with fluid movement, activation of the muscles and connection to our neuromuscular system.

“I am new to yoga, and didn’t really know what to expect when I first started taking classes at FlowFit. As a guy, yoga has a somewhat negative connotation in locker rooms, and as a whole, isn’t looked upon as “manly” or beneficial to being a better athlete (WRONG!). Everyone was so welcoming, from the awesome instructors to fellow yogi’s, and I instantly felt comfortable and not out of place. The classes are fun yet challenging, and have been very humbling. I am excited for each new class that I attend to learn and improve. The restore classes have been especially beneficial in helping old injuries and gaining mobility and flexibility, while also helping with soreness from sports and weightlifting.” -Jake C.

Looking for a way to wind down and release tension while also learning a ton about your body? Join us next Wednesday at 6:45 PM for a workshop all about the fascia and how to release it!

Join Alex to explore aspects of the Superficial Backline, Superficial Frontline and Lateral Line fascial chains in depth to learn more about anatomy in general and your specific needs. Your fascia is an important network of tissue that maintains the tensegrity of your body (holds the muscle to the bone to keep you upright) and needs to be addressed differently than the musculature itself. You are guaranteed to leave this workshop feeling incredible, and with more knowledge about how to improve your flexibility dramatically.

Power Yoga is our 60 minute Vinyasa based class that takes you on an in-depth journey and exploration of movement and breath. Often classes will focus on a specific transition, pose or family of postures. We focus heavily on teaching you how to engage and use your body to its fullest potential, which truly sets FlowFit apart from your standard power yoga practice.

We cant always be flowing in paradise, but we can always create a paradise of our own on our mats. Our practice allows us to hit the pause button on the business and chaos of our everyday life. This pause can offer new perspective, mental clarity and a reset to the nervous system. When you feel like you don’t have time for your practice, remind yourself that it often will improve everything else you have going on. Take time to fill your cup ❤️

When your friend asks you to try an arm balance they saw on the internet… Rachel I couldn’t quite do it the way she did but I added my own flare! FlowFit squad, this was a fun way to get into hurdlers pose, give it a try!

Alex and Ashlee met about 4 years ago and have been collaborating ever since. Combining yoga and strength training is something that we believe is the key to improving your skills and accomplishing any goal mental or physical.

Alex takes her passion for yoga and movement to the next level in every class, keeping it fresh and interesting every time. Her focus is to help you understand how to utilize your muscles for maximum efficiency. She believes if you learn how to truly control your body, there is nothing you can't do. With her yoga classes you will gain flexibility, mobility and strength that you didn't know you were capable of.

Ashlee loves to mix up the format and timing of her workouts so that your body is always guessing, and you never get bored! Her upbeat and flexible approach is open to all levels and encourages people to try to challenge themselves with every move!
