The article by National Geographic discusses the importance of good choice of footwear to prevent or lessen the impact of bunions, callouses, corns and toenail issues.

Additionally, ill-fitting and unsupportive footwear can be the cause of chronic ankle, knee and back pain.

The article recommendations include consulting with a podiatrist to discuss prevention of pain, gait analysis and treatment options as well as custom orthotics even if pain isn’t present.
