For twenty five years, ASC has been a place where meaningful connections, compassionate care, and unforgettable moments shape every day. To celebrate this milestone, we asked our residents and team members to finish the phrase “ASC is…” and share the first thing that comes to mind.

Last week, Good Samaritan participated in the VA Vendor Resource Fair in Marion, Illinois. We’re proud to share that our table was awarded second place among more than 44 vendors! Congratulations Tammy Straw, Social Services Director, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

Tammy Straw serves as the Social Services Director at Good Samaritan Home & Rehabilitative Center, where her contributions are invaluable. This year, she has been honored as the Quest for Excellence Winner of the Year, a recognition granted by her colleagues at Good Samaritan.

Each day, Tammy demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her coworkers and residents alike. Her relentless pursuit of outstanding care has rightfully earned her this prestigious award. Nominated by both teammates and residents at Good Samaritan Home, Tammy’s diligence and passion for her work have truly shone through.

Outside of her professional life, Tammy is a proud mother to two children, Cheyanne, 29, and Gunner, 18. She cherishes quality moments spent with family and friends, especially enjoying time with her four grandchildren. Reflecting on her 23 years of experience with residents, Tammy shares, “Every wrinkle tells a story, every gray hair holds wisdom. To work with seniors is to learn from a lifetime of experiences.”

With 23 years of dedicated service at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center, her contributions are truly invaluable. She has transitioned through roles such as QMA and Culinary Manager before assuming the position of Social Service Director. This recognition is well deserved and highlights her remarkable accomplishments. Congratulations, Tammy!
