Honoring Sara Boone for Black History Month

Sara Boone was a trailblazer whose innovation made everyday life better. In 1892, she patented an improved ironing board designed to make ironing easier and more efficient—especially for women’s clothing. At a time when Black women were rarely recognized for their ideas, Sara Boone turned a practical need into a lasting invention still used in homes today. Her creativity, perseverance, and contribution remind us that Black excellence has always shaped the world in meaningful ways.

The men showed up, engaged fully, and created a space rooted in honesty, respect, and growth. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive—many shared how meaningful it was to be heard, supported, and challenged in a healthy way.
We’re grateful for the openness, accountability, and brotherhood that filled the room. This is exactly why these groups matter—healing happens in community. We look forward to continuing this work and building even stronger connections moving forward.
