We had so much fun celebrating birthday twins Alicia and Kay last week. Thank you for stopping, Kay and Monika, to wish Alicia. Thousands of bottles of children's liquid ibuprofen was recalled last week due to possible contamination.

Here's what we want you to know:

Affected Product: Children's Ibuprofen Oral Suspension, USP, 100 mg per 5 mL, sold in 4 fluid ounce (120 mL) bottles.
Manufacturer: Strides Pharma, Inc. (manufactured for Taro Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc.).
Lot Numbers: 7261973A and 7261974A.
Expiration Date: January 31, 2027.
Action Needed: Check your medicine cabinet for these specific lot numbers.
What to Do: If you have an affected bottle, stop using it immediately. Discard it or Return it to the place of purchase for a refund, or contact your pharmacy.

Recall Details:
The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, which indicates a low risk of serious harm, but means the product could cause temporary or reversible health effects.

No injuries have been reported yet, but the "foreign substance" (black particles/gel-like mass) is a safety concern.
The medication was distributed nationwide and likely sold at various retailers.

If your child has consumed the medication and you have concerns, contact your pediatrician or call poison control at 1-800-222-1222

February is National children's dental health month. Dental caries (tooth decay) is the most common childhood chronic disease in children. The AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends brushing a child's teeth twice daily with a fluoride toothpaste as early as the appearance of the first tooth. Use a thin smear for babies and a pea sized amount for older kids. Regular dental visits are an important part of maintaining your child's dental health.

Here is an easy, quick reference chart for acetaminophen dosing. The dose of Tylenol depends on your child's age and weight and the type of formulation of the Tylenol. Fever is any temperature over 100.4 degree Fahrenheit or 38 degree centigrade.
