Happy National Dog Day from our real MVP — Moose! 🐶💙
Some of you may have met our part-time Friday receptionist, full-time attention seeker, and professional snack enthusiast. Moose greets everyone with signature butt wiggles and puppy eyes, but if Dr. Ikeda doesn’t stop by to say hi in between appointments, expect some dramatic whining from her office. 😅

We’re so proud of this amazing patient and the progress she’s made so far! When she first came to us, she was dealing with:
❎ Persistent tongue thrust habit
❎ Anterior open bite (her front teeth didn’t come together)
❎ A narrow palate that limited space and impacted function and breathing
We paired her up with a myofunctional therapist to retrain tongue posture and improve oral function—addressing the root cause of the bite issue before moving into orthodontics.
With early Phase I treatment, we were able to:
✅ Eliminate the tongue thrust habit
✅ Close the open bite
✅ Expand the upper jaw to support proper growth and space for her teeth and tongue
Her smile is already transforming, but her orthodontic journey isn’t over yet! We’ll continue monitoring the eruption of her remaining adult teeth before starting Phase II treatment to fine-tune her bite.
In some cases—like this one—early intervention makes a big difference. Phase I treatment can guide jaw development and prevent more complex problems down the road.
We’re excited to keep supporting this patient every step of the way 💪🦷✨

Our team swapped scrubs for spa robes yesterday morning and kicked off the day with some well-deserved pampering, followed by a delicious lunch overlooking the bay 🌊💆🏻‍♀️🍽️
