โœจ Paint & Sip Day at the Wellness & Recovery Center! โœจ

Todayโ€™s group was all about slowing down, getting creative, and enjoying some cozy comfort. Wellness and Recovery Center staff made homemade crockpot hot chocolate for everyone to โ€œsipโ€ while service users painted beautiful paint-by-number canvases of beach scenes, peaceful woods, windmills, flowersโ€ฆ you name it!

The room was full of laughter, color, and some seriously impressive artwork. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŽจ

๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ What started as a few fun fall groups turned into a full Grateful Gatherings bulletin board without us even realizing it! Between our Turkey Talk, Leaf It Behind, Cozy Connections, and todayโ€™s conflict resolution groups, Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. service users created something beautiful together filled with thankfulness, laughter, and teamwork.

Itโ€™s always amazing to see how creativity and connection naturally come together here at the Wellness and Recovery Center. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’š Kindness in Action! ๐Ÿ’š

Today, our Wellness & Recovery Center adults split into two teams and took part in an Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt filled with smiles, teamwork, and good deeds throughout Garrett County.

As part of our community outreach project, service users helped fill the Little Free Pantries of Garrett County with donated food items and delivered handmade holiday door hangers to Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Garrett County Senior Services. Along the way, they completed acts of kindness, shared encouragement with one another, and even recorded short videos about what kindness means to them.

It was a day full of laughter, gratitude, and genuine connection, reminding us all that small acts can make a big difference. ๐Ÿฅซ๐Ÿ’š

**Here is an updated Map of the ornaments we have received!! Please continue to share this so we can fill up our map!! We have less than a month!! ***

The Child and Adolescent Program at Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. (GLCH) is excited to participate in this year's Festival of Trees by creating a special Christmas tree that represents all 50 states โ€” and we need your help!

We are collecting ornaments from every U.S. state to decorate our tree, which will be donated and auctioned off at the festival. Proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the Dove Center, an organization that provides safety, advocacy, and counseling to individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. The Dove Center also plays a vital role in expanding public awareness and education around these critical issues.

Your ornament donation is more than a decoration โ€” itโ€™s a symbol of hope, unity, and support for survivors in need.

If youโ€™d like to contribute, please send a state-themed ornament (or one that represents your home state) to:

GCLH
Attn: Amber Martin
PO Box 116
Oakland, MD 21550

Together, we can create a beautiful display that reflects the strength and support of our entire nation โ€” one ornament at a time.

Ornaments are needed by November 21,2025.

Please share this so we can reach our goal of all 50 states!!

Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
