Today’s “Hope in Progress” group at the Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness and Recovery Center was one of those groups that reminds us why connection matters so much. 💚

There were laughs, tears, honesty, encouragement, and so many meaningful conversations. We saw service users open up, support one another, and recognize that healing is not linear, and progress does not have to be perfect to matter.

We are so proud of everyone who showed up and shared pieces of their story today. Hope truly is a work in progress. ✨

Today’s Mental Health Awareness Month cookout and scavenger hunt was an absolute HIT at the Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness & Recovery Center! ☀️🧠🎉

Service users spent the morning searching high and low for hidden treasures while completing kindness missions, wellness challenges, and positive social interactions throughout the center. What started as a simple scavenger hunt quickly turned into a morning full of laughter, teamwork, encouragement, and connection. Service users encouraged one another, checked in on staff and peers, shared coping skills, spread kindness, and truly embraced the spirit of community and recovery. From hilarious moments to heartfelt conversations, the energy throughout the building was incredible. One of the best parts of the day was watching participants who are often quiet or reserved become fully engaged, social, and excited to participate. The smiles, laughter, and teamwork reminded us that recovery can look like joy, connection, and having fun together.

Mental Health Awareness Month is about more than education… it’s about creating spaces where people feel supported, included, valued, and connected. Today was a beautiful example of exactly that. 💚

A huge thank you to our amazing staff and participants for making today such a memorable event!

Our Mother’s Day appreciation was all about the moms in our program and in our organization, recognizing everything they give while still showing up for themselves and others.

They were gifted goodie bags courtesy of the Wellness and Recovery Center that included the following:

🌼 Garden Flag – A symbol of home, strength, and the steady presence you bring to those around you.

🌸 Faux Flower – A love that never fades, just like yours.

🍫 Chocolate – A sweet moment, just for you—you deserve it.

🌱 Seed Bomb – Just like you plant love and kindness in others, these seeds will grow into something beautiful.

✝️ Cross – A symbol of faith, hope, and quiet strength.

🦋 Butterfly – Growth, change, and the lives you help shape along the way.

The celebration was filled with laughter, connection, and appreciation, making sure each mom felt seen, valued, and celebrated. 🩷
