“Greetings Fam! We are asking for your love and support to provide hot meals, sanitation and care kits to 100 of our unhoused neighbors. We will be having a pop-up holiday meal, music, and a care village at the 45th St Encampment.
We are asking OUR HOUSED neighbors to contribute hygiene supplies, canned food, bottled water, rain gear, tarps, garbage bags, $$ et al to be redistributed on Sunday Dec 19th from 45th St between MLK and Telegraph in North Oakland and will travel to surrounding encampments to distribute these care kits. ***YOU CAN DROP OFF ITEMS 11-2PM that will be redistributed on 45th st and surrounding North Oakland Encampments”

Pre-event:
Shopping team (with reimbursement)
Flier design for the event / printing.
Flier to encampments to share about the event in advance

Set up space
Support the cooking team

and want to get water and stock some sleeping bags and other supplies. The rain has come and winter is around the corner. ⛺️🌧

A flyer i made for something a really care about! The free store started as an idea during the pandemic of a place that could do what goodwill does but actually benefits the community and everyone involved without the need of capitalism. We started off doing monthly runs and since then have grown to a more consistent place for people to come and get what they need with big thank you to .commons for hosting! Clothing much like food and Shelter are a necessity to life. We are judged for what we wear, given or denied opportunities for what we wear or don't have access to. It's a big factor in self esteem/confidence which play out in how we move through life, not feeling yourself can simply put you in a bummy mood we've all experienced that. Everyone deserves to have clothing regardless of their means. The free store is for everyone EXCEPT RESELLERS. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE FREE STORE TO TAKE AND RESELL. THAT IS NOT HELPING WITH OUR MISSION OF CREATING EQUALITY (CONT. IN COMMENTS). With that said, we are always accepting donations with the consciousness of if you were in need of the item your donating would you want it (crusty un**es and pants with ripped croches, not so much)

The Free Store is low on “mens” clothes in general, but we could especially use larger t-shirts! (Larger than XL is great too)

Drop off donations Wednesdays thru Saturdays from 3-6pm. Please bring donations washed, and no rips or stains! Thank you so much 💕

The free store at Omni commons at 48th and shattuck is now accepting donations again!

Things we really need are men’s clothes! Shirts, pants, jackets, new socks and underwear!

Also more plus size clothes.

Always looking for more sleep items such as tents, sleeping bags, blankets.

And batteries, battery packs always needed!

Come give and receive at the free store! Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 3pm to 6pm every week🌺
