A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of dining at Crown Shy, and wow… what an experience. 🌟

🥖 Pistachio pull-apart bread + chive butter = instant comfort.
🦪 Oysters in sherry consommé with celery, followed by snapper ceviche with plum + aguachile rojo—fresh and bright.
🥗 Tomato–peach salad with chili peanut + anchovy—sweet, savory, spicy… all the things.
🐟 Pan-seared cod with mole rojo + summer salad—rich and crisp in all the right ways.
🍗 The star: signature citrus-marinated chicken with house hot sauce—seriously, it lives up to the hype.
🍊 Dessert dreams: satsuma with honeycomb + toasted marshmallow, and mango with coconut + crème fraîche to finish light and sweet.

Located in the historic 70 Pine Street skyscraper, Crown Shy opened in 2019 and quickly earned a Michelin star. It’s the first solo restaurant from the late Chef James Kent, who trained at some of NYC’s top kitchens and loved blending fine-dining technique with approachable, fun flavors. Every dish feels thoughtful but never stuffy—a true balance of elegance and neighborhood warmth.
