Wow! 🤩 Today our Clinical Supervisor and Public Policy & Advocacy Manager had the incredible opportunity to attend the Special Needs Talent Show hosted by Friends of Children with Special Needs and they were truly speechless!
From science experiments 🧪 to classical music 🎻 to contortionism 🤸‍♀️, the talent on display was nothing short of amazing. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to attend and celebrate such creativity, passion, and skill in our community 💙✨

¡Wow! 🤩 Hoy nuestra Supervisora Clínica y nuestra Gerente de Políticas Públicas y Defensa tuvieron la increíble oportunidad de asistir al Festival de Talentos para Personas con Necesidades Especiales, organizado por Friends of Children with Special Needs, ¡y quedaron verdaderamente sin palabras!

This week, our CEO, Alex Mountford, and Public Policy & Advocacy Manager, Diana Gonzalez, joined self advocates, disability advocates and service providers at the California Disability Services Association conference 🏛️ to educate CA representatives on the importance of preserving the Lanterman Act 📜 and to ask their support for SB 969, which would make the option for remote services permanent 💻, and AB 2414, which would formally define the critical role of Direct Support Professionals 👏.

We’re grateful to stand alongside so many dedicated advocates! We will keep showing up and advocating for the individuals and families we serve 💪💙

Esta semana, nuestro CEO, Alex Mountford, y nuestra Gerente de Políticas Públicas y Defensa, Diana Gonzalez, se unieron a autodefensores, defensores de las personas con discapacidades y proveedores de servicios en la conferencia de la Asociación de Servicios para Personas con Discapacidades de California 🏛️ para educar a representantes de California sobre la importancia de preservar la Ley Lanterman 📜 y solicitar su apoyo para SB 969, que haría permanente la opción de servicios remotos 💻, y AB 2414, que definiría formalmente el papel fundamental de los Profesionales de Apoyo Directo 👏.
