interviewed me for their feature documentary CHOICE: Birth in America. They just put out a casting call and will be selecting four pregnant moms/parents to feature in their movie. Here’s a message from the filmmakers:

“This isn’t a film about the “right” way to give birth. It’s about whether Americans are free to choose the birth that’s right for them. Each of our subjects wants something different. It could be an elective c-section, a hospital birth, a VBAC, a home birth, a free birth… In exchange for their participation, subjects will be offered a postpartum stipend. Taking a moment to wish all the Mothers that I have had the privilege of touching in some way over the many years of my Doulas career, all the mothers in my family, all the mothers that consider themselves friends, and all who have been mothers without birthing a very Happy Mother’s Day. I thank you all for allowing me to be in your lives. And a special thanks to my mom, for making me the woman I have become. Much love

I was honored to attend the last high school volleyball game of one of my “babies” last night. He gave me a huge hug at the end and said.. “So glad you were here..I love you”. Heart melt! Congrats, Henry!!

So honored to be chosen as Keynote at this year’s AMCHP conference. Seems like they liked what I had to say 🙂. Also, having my photos curated by the amazing .of.myrrh was such a joy. She along with the amazing AMCHP Board President, Lisa Amare, facilitated our conversation so well. We had a blast! And I have a new boyfriend, CEO of AMCHP, Terrence Moore…what a wonderful guy. Thank you. AMCHP for this incredible experience.

We really need to encourage Black mamas to try and practice at least some of this. So important for postpartum health.
