🩺National Public Health Week (NPHW) was launched by the American Public Health Association in 1995. It highlights the systems and conditions that shape the health of our communities. The observance also sheds light on the reality that health is built through policy, environment, access, and care. It cannot be created in isolation.

🥼We understand public health as something that must work for people across the full body size spectrum, especially for those of us most often excluded. This week, we're reminded to question all approaches that center weight as the primary measure of health and to even more loudly and forcefully call for access to respectful, compassionate care.

🗓Stay tuned in the coming week as we discuss and imagine "public health" that is equitable, accessible, and as free from harm as possible.
