❄️ Snow Day Reminder + Shoveling Tips ❄️
With the snow rolling in, we want to help you stay safe and protect your spine!
If you’re shoveling:
✔️ Warm up first (a few minutes of movement goes a long way)
✔️ Bend at the hips and knees — not your low back
✔️ Keep the shovel close to your body
✔️ Avoid twisting while lifting (step your feet instead)
✔️ Take breaks and don’t rush
Your back will thank you later 😊
✴️✴️Appointment Reminder📳📳:
If you have an appointment scheduled for Monday, please check our page or give us a call (301-334-3220) before venturing out, as hours may change depending on road conditions.
Your safety always comes first! Stay warm, take it slow, and we’ll keep you updated.

Day 11: Balance Declines as Proprioception Decreases
🦴 Did you know?
Proprioception is your body’s ability to sense where it is in space—allowing you to maintain balance and move smoothly without consciously thinking about it. Proprioceptive input from spinal joints plays a key role in balance and coordination. When joints become stiff or restricted, this feedback can decrease.
💡 Pro Tip:
Incorporate daily balance exercises to improve neuromuscular stability and reduce fall risk. Regular chiropractic adjustments help optimize joint motion and proprioceptive input.
A well-functioning spine supports better balance and movement at every age.

Day 9: Cold Weather Tightens Muscles
🦴 Did you know?
Colder temperatures cause muscles and connective tissues to contract, which can reduce blood flow and flexibility—often leading to increased stiffness and discomfort.
💡 Pro Tip:
Warm up your body before winter activities and keep your neck and back insulated. Regular chiropractic adjustments help maintain mobility and reduce seasonal stiffness.
Take extra care of your spine during colder months.

Day 8: Sleeping Position Can Affect Spinal Alignment
🦴 Did you know?
Sleeping on your stomach increases rotation and extension stress on the lumbar and cervical spine, which can contribute to stiffness and discomfort.
💡 Pro Tip:
Opt for side or back sleeping with a pillow that supports a neutral neck position. Regular chiropractic adjustments can also help maintain proper spinal alignment.
Quality sleep starts with good spinal positioning.

🎄 12 Days of Spinal Health – Fact-Focused Edition 🎄
Day 7: A Strong Core Reduces Load on the Lumbar Spine
🦴 Did you know?
Your core muscles help reduce compression on the lumbar discs and provide stability to the vertebrae, decreasing stress on the lower back during daily activities.
💡 Pro Tip:
Try 1–2 minutes of core work each day—such as bird dogs, dead bugs, or planks. Regular chiropractic adjustments help support spinal stability and movement.

Day 6: Movement Nourishes Spinal Joints
🦴 Did you know?
Facet joints receive nutrients through movement, not blood vessels. Regular motion helps keep spinal joints healthy and mobile.
💡 Pro Tip:
Add micro-movement—stretching or walking—every 30–60 minutes. Regular chiropractic adjustments also help maintain healthy joint motion.
Your spine thrives on movement.
