AB 236, designed to address inaccurate provider directories, recently cleared a significant hurdle by passing the Senate Health Committee. The bill would require health plans and insurers to audit and delete inaccurate listings from their provider directories annually. It would also establish accuracy benchmarks and associated penalties.
IHA is monitoring the progress of AB 236 and has provided comments on the bill, drawing on our experience improving provider directory data quality and exchange through Symphony's centralized directory.
Our panel of industry experts discussed AB 236 and other regulatory updates in our recent Health Policy Webinar. Access the recording here, along with other resources on AB 236: https://hubs.li/Q02HTFBf0
