🐣📖 Celebrating an extra special Easter Sunday. 🐰 Oasis memory care neighborhood residents gathered for a lovely afternoon of poetry, reflection, and adorable crafting fun. This video features one of the residents reading an Easter poem while her friends and neighbors listened. They also made the most adorable fluffy Easter chick creations!

Sharing and listening to poetry stimulate memory, encourage emotional expression, and foster deep social connection, while hands-on crafting promotes fine motor skills, sparks creativity, and provides a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

🏺🤲 Getting the hands dirty — in the best way possible! Residents had an amazing time in the art studio, diving into a fun-filled clay creation session. From shaping and molding to adding those perfect finishing touches, the talented residents let their imaginations run free as they sculpted their very own unique masterpieces.

The hands-on nature of sculpting and molding clay is fantastic for maintaining fine motor skills, improving hand strength, and promoting joint flexibility — giving fingers and hands a gentle yet effective workout. On top of the physical benefits, clay work is wonderfully therapeutic, helping to reduce stress and anxiety while boosting focus and mindfulness.

✊🪧Residents at Mercy Retirement and Care Center are proof that passion and civic spirit have no expiration date.

Inspired by the nationwide "No Kings" movement, residents organized their very own peaceful demonstration right outside the community. With signs held high and voices united, they showed up with heart, conviction, and the kind of fierce determination that comes from a lifetime of standing up for what they believe in.

Participating in causes they care about gives residents a powerful sense of purpose, agency, and belonging — all of which are essential for emotional well-being and a fulfilling quality of life. We couldn't be more proud of this amazing group! 💪🗽❤️

Engaging in creative expression has been shown to reduce stress, improve fine motor skills, and stimulate cognitive function by activating areas of the brain associated with memory and problem-solving. With drinks in hand and good company all around, the conversations were flowing, and the laughter was plentiful.

The community is excited to share this gorgeous Women's Day display created by the incredibly talented Life Enrichment Coordinator, Siu Ming and residents. The artwork was created to honor significant women throughout history. One of the pieces is Siu Ming's grandmother.

The creativity, thoughtfulness, and heart that went into this beautiful tribute to women everywhere is simply stunning. It's the perfect way to honor and celebrate the amazing women in the community — the resilient, inspiring, and extraordinary residents, as well as the team members who go above and beyond to brighten residents' lives.

The dining room was transformed into a stunning display of Lunar New Year beauty, with vibrant red and gold decorations. The love and care that went into every detail is a reflection of just how much the team cherishes residents!
