🎸🎢 The Bistro at Mercy Retirement and Care Center was transformed into the coolest concert venue in town when 13-year-old Solomon took the stage to serenade his grandparents, residents Kathleen and Vince L., with a beautiful recital of Grandad Vince's all-time favorite songs!

He played iconic songs like "I Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire," and "Blackbird." Solomon had the room absolutely captivated.

Solomon, thank you for sharing your talents with the Mercy family!

πŸ„πŸš› Residents had some fun with clay recently. Just ask resident Ray, who tried playing with clay for the very first time and created a whimsical masterpiece β€” a truck sitting on top of a big mushroom, inspired by the fantastical world of Alice in Wonderland! "I never worked with clay before, but I'm loving trying it out!" she said.

Working with clay helps strengthen fine motor skills, improves hand flexibility and grip strength, and provides a gentle therapeutic workout for joints and muscles. But the benefits go far beyond the physical β€” the experience of creating something from scratch sparks imagination, builds confidence, and delivers a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

πŸ₯πŸŽΆ Feel that beat as residents brought the rhythm, the energy, and all the good vibes during an incredible drum circle session!

While the residents were having a great time, they were also giving their bodies and minds an impressive workout. Drum circles offer remarkable physical benefits, including stimulating the immune system, reducing stress hormones like cortisol, and boosting the body's natural T-cells. The rhythmic motion of drumming improves motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and blood circulation, all while serving as a gentle low-impact workout that triggers the release of endorphins β€” the body's natural painkillers.
