Freedom Friday - Freedom a reward of forgiveness.

“Forgiveness is clearing the record of those who have wrong me and not holding a grudge.”

Many of us, including me have been hurt, deceived, cheated, lied to, and taken advantage of throughout our many years in business and by family members who suppose to love us and care for us. At this point we have two choices: to forgive and be free or to become bitter, angry, and lash out to get even.

The first choice to forgive is usually not our first reaction which results in stress, bitterness, revenge, and anger. Much damage is done to relationships, people, and our health through anger and blame, and a kind of self-righteous aggression. We live in a society that is stressed and angry. People are hungry for solutions; a corrective has to emerge. The most complete and strongest corrective is forgiveness.

When you are angry with someone, ask this question, “Is it worth it to me right now to suffer?”

“If you are suffering from a bad man’s injustice, forgive him lest there be two bad men.” St. Augustine
