Meet Our Volunteers! Today, we’re celebrating three incredible volunteer clinicians:

🌟 Michele Vigil, LMFT — Volunteering feels like a “full circle moment” for Michele, a former foster youth herself; she brings deep empathy and resilience to her work.

🌟 Amber-Lea Martinez, APCC — Amber-Lea joined to break down barriers to mental health care. She deeply values the client relationship and finds volunteering with AHW fulfilling.

🌟 Gia Stark, LMFT, LPCC — Gia joined in 2022 to provide pro bono therapy to a former foster youth. She says this work reminds her why she became a therapist in the first place.

Please join us in welcoming Adanna Eke, LCSW as she steps into her new role as Director of Building Practice in Community (BPIC)!

Adanna has been part of our community since 2023, serving both as a volunteer clinician — meeting weekly with her client — and as Co-Director of our Los Angeles Chapter. Now, she’s expanding her impact by guiding BPIC’s growth while continuing her Los Angeles leadership.

Volunteer Spotlight! 🎤🎤 Meet Mackenzie Strong, MHC-LP — one of our incredible A Home Within therapists! Since 2023, Mackenzie has been offering consistent care to foster youth, bringing both her professional skills and her lived experience as an adoptee to the work.

She loves that A Home Within provides community, peer learning, and staff support — making it easier for therapists to show up and make a lasting impact.
