On Women’s Equality Day, we uplift the generations of Indigenous women who have led with strength, compassion, and cultural knowledge. From protecting our rights and sacred traditions to nurturing families and organizing for justice, their contributions are the heartbeat of our communities.

True equity means honoring the leadership of women in all spaces—health, healing, education, and beyond. Their wisdom continues to guide our path forward as we build a future rooted in balance, respect, and collective strength.

This summer, we proudly hosted our 3rd Annual Red Lightning Young Women Virtual Series—a powerful six-part program uplifting young Native women through song, mentorship, and cultural exchange.

Led by Aurora Mamea (Blackfeet), with support from Nizhoni Ellenwood (Nez Perce Nimi-Pu) and April Marshall (Yurok/Hoopa), the series brought together generations to learn traditional songs and celebrate identity through performances at events like Indigenous People’s Day Powwow and Yerba Buena AI Arts Festival.

These young women are reclaiming their voices, preserving sacred songs, and shaping the future of Native music and leadership. 🎶
