The wisdom of Ayurveda recognizes Ritu Sandhi, the transition between two seasons and an opportune time to care for our health.
In October, as the leaves start falling, we begin to move from the hot Pitta summer to the cool, windy fall Vata season. This season is marked by qualities like dry, rough, cool, windy, light and subtle.
Just looking at the tall trees and feeling the cooler air gives us the reminder that we are in a seasonal transition and need to start to–
slow down to calm our nervous system and reset our digestion for optimal immunity and self care.
A gentle cleanse or rejuvenation program can be very helpful in slowing down and addressing any conditions that have come up after the pitta accumulation of the summer and to help pacify vata.
Some may be feeling more bloating, dryness, constipation, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, achey legs, muscles, cracking joints as the weather starts to cool.
This season is also so helpful for not only addressing the pitta and vata accumulation, but a cleanse can help to support those who want to minimize springtime allergies and boost the immune system.
Kaale Samshodana is a seasonal purification that is said to boost immunity, cleanse the accumulated toxins of the previous seasons, and support healthy digestion and rejuvenation of the bodily tissues.
If you are needing support or want to learn more, we have some offerings to share.
FALL REJUVENATION
We start with a consultation as now we have reached Fall Equinox. Cecilia will help guide you in person or through a video session to help guide you though the transition and if needed incorporate a seasonal purification program. Supportive and practical recommendations will help empower you to learn how to manage symptoms, stabilize digestion, connect with your biorhythms to reach your unique health goals.
Together you will develop a customized therapy plan, which includes herbs, recipes, diet, lifestyle recommendations with in-person cleansing and rejuvenation therapies if so desired.
Depending on your needs, you might follow the consultation with
two weeks to one month of preparation to strengthen your digestion and eliminate natural toxins through diet and herbal formulations.
Your customized rejuvenation program will take place over the course of 3-14 days of in-person therapies between October and early December.
We have started booking up with those who started this process over the summer.
If you did get your consultation over the summer and have finished your herbal protocol, you can schedule your followup appointment or email Cecilia@eastbayayurveda.com to schedule your cleansing and/or rejuvenation program.
For or those who you already have a diet and/or herbal protocol for this transition and are working with your health pracititioner or Ayuvedic doctor, we can work in collaboration with their recommendations for your in-person therapy program.

FALL AND ABHYANGA MASSAGE
This is an excellent time to come in for an abhyanga massage.
During this time we may use Pavan Oil during your Abhyanga massage. Pavan Oil pacifies Vata and Vata-related issues. This unique blend of pure botanicals revitalizes and hydrates the skin. It is refreshingly light yet moisturizing, and also has calming effects on the stressed mind, relaxing frayed nerves, keeping the mind alert and focused, and providing mental reprieve.
Pavan is an infusion of Licorice, Ashwagandha, Arrow Leaf Sida, and Turmeric in a Sesame oil base for a delicate warming sensation that fosters a lively, yet grounding energy. This synergistic blend of herbs allows the body to stay in tune with seasonal and environmental shifts, raising the skin’s natural resistance to these stressors, while maintaining a strong balance of hydration and nourishment. Antioxidant-rich Pavan Oil is non-comedogenic, making it an excellent choice for users with sensitive or clog-prone skin.
Each abhyanga is customizable and we have an array of different herbal oils that applied are medicinal in nature. And we know have restorative sessions that include a full body abhyanga with additional tension relief or mini facial and an herbal hair rinse.
