In the latest KTSF Living Healthier segment, three breast cancer patients share how traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) — alongside chemotherapy — is helping them ease side effects, boost energy, and find emotional balance.

Led by Dr. Amy Matecki, Sutter’s Alta Bates Summit Center for Integrative Medicine is part of an FDA-approved clinical trial studying the safety of Shengbai oral liquid for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Patients describe acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and qigong as easing side effects and supporting overall well-being.

Interventional cardiologists at Sutter Health are embracing new technologies to extend lives – without open heart surgery. 🫀

Dr. Christian Spies at Sutter’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center recently became one of the first in the Bay Area to use the newly U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved EVOQUE tricuspid valve replacement system on a heart failure patient in their 90s.
