As telehealth policy activity continues to accelerate across the country, PHI's Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) tracks and analyzes the latest developments impacting coverage, reimbursement, professional practice and access to care. CCHP's Telehealth Policy Finder tool compiles telehealth-related laws and regulations across the U.S. and at the federal level, helping policymakers, health advocates and other health care professionals understand the policies and trends throughout the nation.

Multiple states have recently made changes to their telehealth policies in an array of policy areas, including their Medicaid programs, private payer laws, professional regulations and cross-state licensing requirements. Explore these by policy or by state in the Telehealth Policy Finder: https://www.cchpca.org/all-telehealth-policies/

Published today by Health Affairs Forefront, a new op-ed examines how Health in All Policies (HiAP) can lead to longer, healthier lives and transformative change in our communities. HiAP is a collaborative approach to improving the health of all people by incorporating health considerations into decision-making across sectors and policy areas.

This piece, coauthored by Aletha Maybank, MD, MPH, PHI’s Julia Caplan and colleagues from across the country, explores how HiAP efforts across the U.S. have successfully aligned practitioners and policymakers focused on health, housing, the environment and economic development policy. These partnerships can and have transformed collective public policy that shapes the health and wellbeing of communities. “[applying HiAP] can demonstrate, concretely, how social and economic decisions translate into longer, healthier lives, fewer ED visits, lower maternal mortality and communities where children can breathe well.”

Every policy is a health policy. It may seem obvious, but our laws and regulations are rarely developed with this in mind.
