is a nationally certified and California-licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She received her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Aimee has a special interest in women’s health, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. She has trained as a doula and taken pregnancy and birth classes with Raven Lang, OMD. She has also trained extensively with Claudia Citkovitz, L.Ac., in labor and delivery acupuncture. Before discovering Chinese medicine, Aimee studied and worked in psychology. She treasures the connections that Chinese medicine recognizes between our mind/spirit and our overall health and well-being. When she’s not doing acupuncture, Aimee loves hiking, practicing qi gong, watching films, brunching, and enjoying life as much as possible. Services include:

We are excited to announce our newest team member to East Bay Acupuncture! Meet Laura Stropes! Laura comes to us with 27 years of experience as an acupuncturist and herbalist throughout the Bay Area. She loves supporting all types of clients, is ABORM-certified and specializes in fertility and menopause support as well as digestive support, pain, and other things. Fun fact: Laura worked at a local Chinese herb company, Mayway Herbs, for 20 years. We are honored and excited to have her be a part of East Bay Acupuncture here in Oakland. Prenatal acupuncture visits can happen propped up with a wedge and some pillows as seen here or lying on your side. Either works great! Many pregnant clients welcome this position because they are spending so much time on their sides when they sleep. We have so many pillows at this office so we can adjust as your pregnancy processes! At 18-20 weeks we use just the wedge and a pillow for your head and knees and then we add more pillows so you are more upright and comfy! A labor preparation client recently said, “I feel like a queen!” We are here for the Goldilocks pillow situation that is pregnancy as it can change weekly.

Our acupuncturists have done extensive postgraduate work and study with the top prenatal acupuncturists on our field. We are so honored to get to support our patients during this time in their lives. I think it’s just the very best!

Yesterday Aimee got to bless our East Bay Acupuncture space with a reiki gathering! For the year before the pandemic we regularly did reiki gatherings in our space! Did you know in 2019 Aimee trained to the reiki master level and although she doesn’t direct use it in her acupuncture sessions, it’s part of who she is and how she lives. Reiki is such a beautifully caring practice. Our acupuncture space got a little energetic love and boost yesterday. It feels so good. Flowers from Aimee’s garden. ♥️🌷

EGG FREEZING! Aimee here. I had the pleasure of seeing this amazing, moving, and realistic documentary about egg freezing over the weekend. and got to finally meet Dr. Aimee in person after all these years too!
It was a beautiful look at how people become (or don’t become) parents in this day and age. 💕
As an acupuncturist watching this film, it reminded me of what Randine Lewis said in a class once that she tells clients/patients when they come to her: “I’m not here to help you get pregnant, I’m here to help you become okay with whatever happens.” That sentence has always stuck with me as an acupuncturist. We don’t know what your path is going to be. We do know that science is amazing and it helps a lot of people to help grow and build their families. And we are here for that. We are here to offer you all the tools and support we know to help you get to where you want to go. AND we are here when the dreams you had don’t turn out the way you imagined. Either way, our clinic is a soft landing place for you to bring all of you to. We hold space for our clients to heal, to grieve, to grow, to come into acceptance, and to move through hard stuff all with a listening ear and some tiny little needles.
