Social media addiction starts early in life. Some of my younger clients are coming to me for treatment for compulsive use, the fallout of cyber-bullying, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, low intrinsic self-value, being more connected to phone and computer screens than their own bodies and emotions, inability to connect in non-virtual relationship, and inability to use critical thinking to discern the authentic to the false claim.
All of this starts when parents attach iPads to their toddler’s strollers.
Luckily, the treatment that I provide for clients who come in their 20’s and 30’s does work, but not before years of needless suffering.
This wonderful article compares the life of a middle schooler from ten years ago to now.
You need FDA approval for prescription drugs, with years of of studies for longer term impacts. There is no such testing and study of the effect on every new version of smartphone and new app on young brains, but I could say at Vital Puma Integral Recovery, it is all of the above, and the prognosis is not good for 2028.
What do you think?
