Genealogy lost a great person of passion for our families history. (Picture: My Dad, My Mom, Aunt Lila and Uncle Kenny) Aunt Lila has talked about our family history for as long as I can remember . . . and I caught the bug several years ago. I am so glad for that because it gave the two of us many many hours of “talking genealogy” as our families call it. No matter what or who the subject of conversation was it was always fun to share and learn new things from each other. We could share pictures, information, research methods, new and old names found, never to get bored with the conversations. I will miss that greatly — thanks for the long talks and family treasures Aunt Lila

The cemetery in New Boston, New Hampshire sits at the top of a hill, what was once the center of town. Now it overlooks Main Street and the Piscataquog

My 13X Great Grandfather - Love knowing my family tree 🌳

The story of John Howland falling overboard on the Mayflower and pulling himself back on board (as told by Governor William Bradford) has made him an early American history legend. The inscription on his stone also mentions that he was the last surviving male of the original Mayflower voyage when he died in 1672.

— Wk7. I almost didn’t do this weeks challenge because as soon as I read the subject I knew what I had to do. And to tell the truth I thought it would be too had for me to put together. But there was no way that I could do a challenge on “LOVE” and not do it about my parents. They loved each and our family with a greater depth than most people know how to love.
Mom passed away in August and we miss her everyday.

-- Wk4 of series. An INVITE TO DINNER took me a week of debating with myself on which family member to pick. Well I was unable to pick just one. So I switched my thought process to a feast of thanksgiving, not the holiday, but the true and pure reason to gather around a table, fellowship. To have the opportunity to meet and share fellowship with this guest list of my ancestors would be unbelievably amazing. Some I chose purely for selfish reasons, others because learning about their lives has been fascinating, a couple because I need about a hundred questions answered, some because they lived during such life changing events (and I am such a history nerd 🤓), and the last of the group because they were true pioneers. This week kind of leaves me with a heavy sigh of "if only"

-- Wk3 of series. This weeks subject really had me stopped in my tracks; I had no idea what to do. In fact I didn't know if I could complete Wk3 -- but late last night (like 12:45am) it hit me (almost like a 🚌). LONGEVITY=LEGACY And in my family we proudly serve in the 🇺🇸 US Military 🇺🇸 -- my Dad, my Grandfathers, uncles, cousins and nephews. I have always been very patriotic (Army brat here) but until I started researching my family history I had no idea that so many of my ancestors served. That has been on of the great gifts research has given me. Hope you enjoy 🤓
