At first glance, craft brewing and funeral service may seem worlds apart. In reality, both are age-old professions rooted in care, tradition, and bringing people together during life’s most meaningful moments.
Racoon PubHaus in Burlington, New Jersey, owned by Marvin Bowe, recently brewed “4 Morticians,” a Belgian Quad ale with rich layers of fig, date, and plum, balanced by toffee, spice, and a warming alcohol. “4 Morticians” was fermented with classic Belgian yeast for complexity and a deceptively dry finish, originally created by the brewery’s predecessor, Third State Brewing, as a tribute to friendship, craftsmanship, and mutual respect. This collaboration brings together Marvin Bowe and the Racoon PubHaus team with funeral directors Brian Horne of Page Funeral Home (Burlington), Alison Perinchief Reinhard of Perinchief Chapels (Mt. Holly), Jill Bradley Ingram of Bradley Funeral Home (Marlton), and Dennis McGee of Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes (Oaklyn & Gloucester City).
Brewed with camaraderie, a shared love of craft beer, and an appreciation for professions built on service, 4 Morticians celebrates the good times, the fun times, and the bonds formed when people who respect their craft come together.
4 Morticians will be released exclusively to PubHaus members only this week and will be available to everyone at Racoon PubHaus beginning next week. Pop into the PubHaus, maybe a mortician will be there.
Here’s to friendship, tradition, and honoring the craft. Cheers. 🍻
