As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to highlight HopeLink’s Transition to Independence Process (TIP) program for this week’s !

TIP supports youth and young adults ages 14–29 across Northern Virginia who are navigating the challenges of transitioning into adulthood while experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. The program helps individuals build skills, confidence, and independence as they work toward their goals.

One TIP client came into the program needing support with mental health stabilization, housing, and independent living skills. With guidance from the TIP Team, the client completed important evaluations needed to access long-term disability resources. Since starting services, the client has maintained stable housing for more than a year, gained access to food and disability benefits, and made significant progress toward greater independence and daily functioning.

These services are available to everyone in our community, including individuals without insurance, because access to mental health support should never be out of reach.

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, this highlights exceptional progress in mental health care across the country. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), more than 70% of U.S. adults experiencing serious mental illness received treatment in 2024. HopeLink is proud to be part of that progress by providing compassionate, comprehensive behavioral health services that help individuals find hope, healing, and support.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that seeking help is a sign of strength and that access to care can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month’s , we’re shining a light on HopeLink’s Outpatient Therapy Services and the life-changing impact compassionate mental health support can have in our community.

Outpatient Therapy provides compassionate, personalized support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, behavioral health conditions, or difficult life circumstances. Through person-centered therapy, our team works alongside each client to help them build coping skills, find hope, and make meaningful progress toward their goals. These services are available to everyone in our community, including individuals without insurance, because access to mental health support should never be out of reach.

One client came to HopeLink struggling with depression, anxiety, guilt, and fear from past experiences that led to suicidal ideation. With support from our Outpatient team, they learned healthy coping skills and emotional regulation techniques that helped create a major breakthrough in their healing journey. Today, they have secured a permanent position at work, a milestone that has helped ease symptoms of anxiety and depression and restore confidence for the future.

Every story of growth reminds us that recovery is possible, and no one has to face these challenges alone!

Our 6th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday was an incredible success! Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our sponsors, donors, and golfers, we raised more than $112,000 in support of HopeLink’s Transition to Independence Process (TIP) program.

From 18 holes on the course to beverage stations, fun competitions, and great prizes, it was a day full of energy and connection, all topped off with a lively cocktail reception.

We’re especially thankful for our Title Sponsors, The Alliance Group and CBRE, along with every sponsor who played a part in making the day so memorable.
