🌸 Life Care Center of Ocala was still blooming with excitement on Wednesday for National Skilled Nursing Care Week!

🏐 We had an exciting resident versus staff volleyball game with our Therapy team, a picnic outside from our Dietary team 🍔, and a roundup of co****le to end the day! Thank you to Concierge Private Duty for their yummy ice cream treats 🍦 in the afternoon to cool everyone down!

We started off National Skilled Nursing Care Week with a bang! 🎉 We began with coffee from Synergy Medical Group and bagels from our Admissions team, and ended the day with piña coladas from Trilogy Home Healthcare and sodas from Shuttleliner of Ocala. 🍹 It was a Luau party to be remembered! 🌺

⛳ Life Care Center of Ocala recently sponsored the annual Alzheimer's Golf Scramble Tournament at Ocala Golf Club!

Associates from our sister facility Life Care Center of Citrus County came to give a couple swings, along with family and friends of Life Care of Ocala. Not only were our local citizen able to brush up on their golf skills, but they were also able to support a great cause! 🏌️‍♂️

💐 Each year, we set aside a special week to celebrate our amazing residents and associates and the role that skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities play in senior care.

We care for those who cannot care for themselves. We help rehab patients recover from illness or injury. And we do it all in a series of many moments... ☺️

From assisting a resident with getting dressed in the morning to providing meals, activities, medication administration, help with activities of daily living, and therapy as appropriate, our associates work together to create a full experience of care.

🌟 Another Rehab Success Story 🌟

Barbara's journey began in mid-February after she had a devastating fall at home with multiple fractures in her spine, pelvis and arm. When she came to us, she was dependent on caregivers for all mobility and self-care tasks including bathing and dressing.

💪 While at Life Care Center of Ocala, with motivation and tough love, she worked tirelessly with physical and occupational therapy to maximize independence with all areas of mobility, balance and functional skills to return home safely. Barbara recognizes her efforts but also attributes her success to her therapists' dedication and encouragement throughout her journey.

"If you listen to what they are saying and do what they tell you, you'll do great!" Barbara shared.

Barbara was able to go home with her sister and brother-in-law on April 30. She is now walking with a walker and performing her self-care tasks with no physical assistance. 🎉

Congratulations, Barbara, and we wish you ongoing success! 👏
