Annette’s smile lit up every room. And now, her legacy lights the way for others.

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Annette was full of life, laughter, and love. Even after her passing, she continued to give generously, becoming a cornea donor and offering the gift of sight to someone in need.

Lauderhill firefighter and paramedic Joshua Schwabenbauer made organ donation his mission, encouraging his whole department to register. After he passed, his “yes” saved 4 lives and helped many more through tissue donation.

In the Sun Sentinel’s Jewish Journal, his mother, Sharon, writes, “One of the greatest gifts any of us can give is the gift of life.”
