Did you know? In 2024, Kimberly’s Center conducted 557 child interviews, ensuring every child who came through our doors had a safe, trauma-informed space to share their story and be heard.

Behind each interview is a child met with care, belief, and protection at one of the most critical moments in their life.

This morning, Kimberly’s Center was honored to be recognized as the Nonprofit Spotlight organization at the Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) breakfast. The opportunity allowed us to share our mission of providing hope, healing, and advocacy for children and families impacted by abuse and neglect throughout Marion County.

We are grateful to CEP for highlighting the important work of local nonprofits and for helping us raise awareness about the services and support available through Kimberly’s Center. Thank you to the business and community leaders who took the time to learn more about our mission and commitment to creating a safer, healthier future for children in our community.

For kids 11+, digital body safety is just as important as safety in real life. Clear expectations around privacy, personal information, messaging, and online relationships help children recognize unsafe situations and know when to speak up. These conversations are not about fear. They are about equipping children with language, confidence, and trusted adults they can turn to.

When digital boundaries are clear and consistent, children are better protected both online and offline.

Kimberly’s Center is the beginning of safety, truth, and healing.

When a child walks through our doors, they are met with a coordinated response focused on protection, belief, and care. What happens here is not the conclusion of their story, but the first step toward restoring what was taken from them and helping them move forward in a safe and supportive environment.

We exist to ensure that in a moment of crisis, a child is not left to carry it alone, but instead is surrounded by the people and resources needed to begin again.

Prevention works when students have the right tools to protect themselves.

In 2024, we taught 26,448 students about child abuse, digital safety and how to identify a safe adult. In 2025, that number grew to 32,621. This ongoing effort ensures our children learn how to navigate digital dangers and identify safe adults.

By giving them these skills, we help the next generation move through the world with confidence.

A child’s future can change when support comes early.

In our latest blog, we explore how early intervention helps prevent abuse by addressing the pressures families face before they become crises. From strengthening parent-child relationships to supporting caregiver mental health, early support creates safer, more stable environments where children can thrive.

Learn how early intervention protects children, reduces risk, and changes the trajectory of a child’s life.

Huge thank you to Cogent Bank for going above and beyond in support of the Race Against Child Abuse and Kimberly's Center 💙

Not only did they sponsor this year’s event, they also came up with the incredible Sunrise to Sunset Challenge — and then made an additional gift to support our ongoing work serving children and families in our community who are impacted by child abuse.

We are so grateful for partners who bring both creativity and heart to this mission. Now we have one important question…

Should the Sunrise to Sunset Challenge return in 2027? Maybe even become a series? ☀️➡️🌅
